- Currently, HVACR professionals either do not work on TXV systems if it is below 70 deg F outside, or, if its an emergency techs might use their actual jackets or cardboard to block the air inlet
- The problem is those methods are inaccurate
- The charging jackets advantage is that it works to bring the pressure drop across the TXV to at least 160 psi, and therefore has the same effect on the system as higher temperatures do
